Dr. Louden was educated and trained at top-rated universities and hospitals, is board-certified in both emergency medicine and internal medicine, and served as a flight surgeon and emergency physician in the United States Air Force.

His expertise in emergency medicine is derived from clinical experience at every level of emergency care, ranging from high-acuity urban and academic facilities as well as level-one trauma centers, to small and rural hospitals.

In addition to his clinical practice, years of experience in administrative roles and faculty positions at Duke University Medical Center and the University of Miami School of Medicine have also contributed to his medical expertise.

Not only has Dr. Louden been able to apply his extensive knowledge of medicine while working in the hospital and in academic and administrative roles, but he has also been able to do so in the legal sphere. He has served as an expert witness since 2004,  and has served as an expert witness for both the defense and plaintiffs in state and federal court, reviewing case materials, preparing written reports, and testifying at depositions and trials.
